Alternative Cover for the Classics/Platinum Edition of the PS3 Game-box, as I didn't like the one it comes with (that platinum border is just ugly) I decided... why not paint my own?

all done in Photoshop CS2 + Cintiq tablet
Background: clouds, dust and dirt was created using texture brushes I made myself, flags are just flat objects with two colors I bent the way the are, using the Warp-tool in Photoshop.
Character: painted all new, reference for the character details used, so that I know where he has all that stuff placed on his body, didn't use any references anatomy-wise though, so it might be off on a few edges. Horse is also painted completely new in Photoshop, mane was created using a special hair brush.

Really well done, maybe a little bit too clean at some parts but still, overall a 7/7.

Cool! This would be even better with som mountains to fill the background, and maybe make his hood/cloak look a bit softer, right now it's a bit stiff

Great work on the horse!

Is the perspective a bit off? I'm not sure how to point it out, just seems off. Anyways, I think you did a great job on this one

There is a lot of work in this one, you can see
The horse looks great

I think you could play around a bit more with your brushstrokes
as the overall image looks a bit too smooth and 'plastic'like

its a solid image nevertheless

I agree with what was said so far. The few textures you have used are just a bit too perfect. I'm really wanting to see some dirt and grime that seems to be one of the signatures of Assassin's Creed. And I see that you've used a motion blur on the flags. I think you could use it with equal effect on the horse- his feet and mane especially.

It is nicely painted though. Did you start with a 3D render?
